Descent to Hell i

The bottle of Jack Daniel’s

Calls my unspoken name

I take shot after shot

Sipping and sipping

Drinking and

Sipping

damned

Cold Coffee

Cold coffee in the morning

And warm milk at night

Kiss me on the cheek without warning

And hold me too tight.

Too sweet you are, like a tray of fruit

Pineapples, peaches, and plums

Feeling giddy when you call me cute

In our home’s backyard I’ll plant flowers and mums.

I Must Type This Sentence to Keep the Monsters at Bay

I must type this sentence to keep the monsters at bay,

I saw them in the corner of my eye one day,

And ever since then I’ve been slaving away.

I must type this sentence to keep the monsters at bay,

They’re so tall,

And I feel so small.

Their teeth twist and turn with malice glee,

When they stalk me so joyfully.

I must type this sentence to keep the monsters at bay,

I am all alone at night, you see?

And typing this story keeps me company,

Now that you know of the monsters too,

I don’t know if they will harm you,

But fear not,

There’s nothing wrong with wanting a story for your pen to jot.

If you see a tall blurry mess of tangled, lanky limbs,

Open up a notebook, and grab a pen,

And write this sentence until your end.

I must type this sentence to keep the monsters at bay,

I must type this sentence to keep the monsters at bay,

Yesterday

Yesterday I floated up to the moon,

I reached out to touch the stars,

They were so close I could touch them,

I watched you reach up to try and grab me, but I left too soon,

I watched you cry as you watched me lay down on the moon.
